Keeping it Classy for a Gal on a Budget
One of my gifts and passions as some of you may know is fashion. I find so much joy helping people with their wardrobe and mixing and matching items with what they already own. It is a great way to add a little excitement to your look and not spend a dime.
This page will be a way to get ideas and encouragement to not go CRAZY on the spending but to use what you already own to spice up your style. Or in some cases budget your money so you are allowing yourself one trip a month to go nuts. (That's the way I work)
TODAY'S LOOK:
(May and its still CHILLY!)
Today as I was house sitting, I realized I did NOT put any thought into my selection of clothes I brought with me. Oops. Time to be creative with what I have. I had a few cami's/tanks and t's , 2 pairs of jeggings, a jacket (for who woulda thought another chilly day) and 2 pairs of flats with a few accessories.
This is what I came up wit.....
Mustard Tank top: I think I got this one at Target $
Light Weight Jacket: Kohls-not sure how much? Its Sonoma Brand?
Jeggings: H&M $17 ( I love these they have no zipper and super comfy)
Flats: Last year T.J Maxx, Tahari Brand for $30
Gold Chain Link Necklace: Express for a little over $20. I got this free with my birthday gift card! Woohoo!
Tip of the day :
**Buy classic items with not a lot of prints."Key Staple Items." My sister and mother taught me this because prints go out of style real quick and people notice them more. Don't think you can get away with wearing the same top in the same week ;). This way you can mix and match many of the items you already own.
-A white denim or light weight coat is KEY for me in the spring. Especially when its a bit windy or rainy!
-Flats that are mostly neutral I find to be a staple.
-Denim Jeggings can be dressed up or down.
-If you feel like you need to buy something new for a special occasion try buying a bold accessory. It is much more cost effective and you can use it multiple times with different outfits. A bright, chunky necklace always looks fab with a plain tee and cut off shorts.
Love this!! Always could use some good fashion tips. Thanks for sharing!
