Spiritual Food for the Soul

BIBLE STUDY-- getting together and encouraging one another, praying for needs, and spending time in Gods word.

This last week I hosted my first bible study. I love entertaining and having people over but as you know It can be a lot of work.  My thought was to keep it simple: snackies/appetizers and lemonade with Pure Lemon Juice and Truvia and of course agua.Cannot forget a little bit of sweets on top.
I will list the guest's favorite snacks/apps in my "yummy food" section.

The bible study we are growing through is called "The Frazzled Female: Finding Peace in the Midst of Daily Life."  By Cindi Wood.

It sure knocked me over the head with truth and conviction. We all constantly struggle with "busyness" and having so much on our plates. For me owning a business, taking care of my clients but yet searching and marketing for more, trying to volunteer/serve more, getting to the gym AT least 3x a week, well as pouring in time and investing in my relationships God, family and friends can be challenging. Yes-even as a single gal. Hey--I have to make ends meat and ALONE its not easy. God has truly blessed me with clients for my business and provided for all my needs. I am nothing and have nothing without Him.

"Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you" Matthew 6:33

This bible study has truly showed me how finding peace in the midst of your day is by spending that time and investing in God. It is about becoming intimate with God. I find building my relationship with Him looks a lot like how you would for example-if you had a boyfriend or husband. Or any of your relationships for instance. SIMPLY PUT: it takes work, it takes listening, learning about him and his ways, putting aside time and not being distracted with what the rest of the world is doing.

When I put the Lord at the very head of my day by waking up an extra hour early and investing in him, I find so much more peace in my day. I LOVE setting my coffee timer and waking up to it and digging into the word. After I finish in journaling and/or prayer --I pour out to my heart to him in this time. I pray that my focus would always be on the Lord and to teach me his ways and invite him to take on the day with me so that I can take on the day with HIM in me and not try to go at the day on my own strength. It truly HELPS. I cannot tell you how much patience and love I have for all those around me. On the days I do not get up and do this or TRULY put got at the beginning of the day I feel so lost. My eyes have been taken off of him and that is when I become selfish and anxious in my ways. God blesses the time that we spend with him. The word is a map to life. The key to living a victorious and fulfilling life.
I want to yearn for God and to really, really enjoy the time with him. Ultimately he is the love of my life and no other should come before him. So why is it that we forget to make time for him?

In two weeks we talk about : A LESS THAN POSITIVE ATTITUDE.
"Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones" Proverbs 16:24
I cannot wait to grow more in my relationship with God and I know this is going to be the trick in my "frazzled" life.
